The principal focus of the programme is on urban rehabilitation of Eritrea's capital city, Asmara. Asmara possesses an internationally distinguished urban ensemble which stands among the highest concentrations of Modernist buildings anywhere in the world, which has suffered a period of decades of neglect brought about by lack of resources mainly caused by war. This built heritage constitutes not only a fundamental pillar of Eritrean cultural identity but also a rich resource for its urban public domain. If well-maintained, this built heritage would offer further potential for social and economic projects, street-market activities, the enactment of cultural events such as theatre, cinema and dance, and would also contribute to better attract international tourism.
The programme aims to support the safeguarding of some of Asmara's built heritage, and to set the basis for sustaining a long-term rehabilitation process. By means of the provision of appropriate technical assistance and grants for works and supplies, the programme proposes to fully rehabilitate heritage buildings and public spaces and to contribute to improving managerial, administrative, heritage conservation practices and capacities at the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) and municipal level, in line with international best-practices.

Croatia has a rich and diverse cultural heritage (cultural goods, movable, immovable and intangible), therefore many sites belong to UNESCO's World Heritage List.
Jusuf Mašković’s Han (Caravanserai) is located in Vrana, a village in the Pakoštane hinterland, it is the most significant historical Islamic structure in the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The Han is a unique architectural monument in Croatia, valuable for its size, building technique and materials, architectural decoration and location in space. Vrana has suffered great damages during the Homeland War (1991-1995), when more than 50% of settlement was demolished, it is one of the poorest areas in Croatia.
The objective of this contract is the preparation of Main design and tender documentation for reconstruction and revitalization of Maškovića Han, by re-establishing its original function and preserving its original materials.
The Han will contain the following: lodgings, restaurant with kitchen, cafeteria with storeroom, shops, offices of the Han Agency, and Information Points of the Nature Park Vransko jezero and the Pakoštane Tourist Board.
Some elements will be restored, such as: the tower, with its original arches, stairwells and fireplaces; the Turkish bath (hammam), preserving the original structure; the fountain, the original stone walls. On the contrary other elements will be completely new: the floor (wooden, brick or stone) and flat roof structures, windows and doors of top quality wooden materials.
The Han will get its water supply and sewerage network (sanitary facilities, drainage, fecal water management and hydrant network) from the municipal waterworks and low voltage electricity supply from the municipal distribution network.

The Citadel of Erbil lies at the heart of the city with evidence of many millennia of habitation, making it one of the longest continuously inhabited sites in the world. It rises 28-32 m above the surrounding city, with successive layers of settlements: Assyrian, Akkadian, Babylonian, Persian and Greek. Over 500 structures are still standing, only a few of which are in an acceptable state of conservation.
Since January 2010, the Erbil Citadel, which lies in the heart of the historical city center, has been on the UNESCO Tentative List of World Heritage Sites. Hence, it was found necessary to implement a project with the overall aim of establishing clear guidelines and regulations for managing the urban historical city center of Erbil surrounding the Citadel, assuring that future development of the city would not negatively impact the Citadel itself, nor the heritage districts and buildings within its surroundings. Thus an adequate buffer area shall be designated and managed in a way that would be compatible with the values of the Citadel, avoiding any negative impacts on the Citadel.
The overall objective of the project is to establish clear guidelines and regulations for managing the urban historical city center of Erbil surrounding the Erbil Citadel.
In order to adequately manage the historical area surrounding the Erbil Citadel, the following is to be established:
